Dear Friends and Neighbours, Many families around the lake have been touched by cancer - experiencing the shock and horror accompanying a cancer diagnosis. To do something about this terrible disease and it's impact on people and their loved ones, the Pigeon Lake Pedal was borne. With a long history of enjoying the beauty of the lake it seemed like a natural place to welcome others to come together with a common purpose. The five previous Pigeon Lake Pedal's were a great success thanks to the wonderful support in our community. Over $217,000 has been raised for the Alberta Cancer Foundation in support of the Cross Cancer Institute. The need to provide extra support for innovative research into prevention, early diagnosis and cutting edge treatments without devastating long term effects remains. Hopefully you will consider this an opportunity to do your part in the fight against cancer while also participating in a truly special event that the whole family can enjoy. Please join our families as we pedal around Pigeon lake on Saturday, July 3, 2010 and help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who are facing cancer.
