January 23rd, 2009 RE: 5th Annual Pigeon Lake Pedal…Pushing the Cure for Cancer To Whom It May Concern: I am pleased to provide a letter of endorsement for the organizers of the 5th Annual Pigeon Lake Pedal…Pushing the Cure for Cancer. This event is a very special bike ride around Pigeon Lake which the whole family can participate in. This years’ event will take place on Saturday, July 4th and will raise funds for the Alberta Cancer Foundation (ACF) in support of the Cross Cancer Institute. The Cross Cancer Institute is one of Canada’s major cancer centers, and a world leader in patient care and cancer research. Patients and families requiring cancer care in northern Alberta have access to the best cancer care available anywhere in the world today, and this is thanks in large part to our donors and supporters of the Alberta Cancer Foundation—the fundraising arm of the Alberta Cancer Board. 100% of funds raised stay in Alberta. Over $183,000 has been raised over since the Pigeon Lake Pedal’s inception four years ago. We applaud the efforts of the volunteer organizers, and are delighted that they are leading the effort in putting together this fabulous event again this year.
